Maynard Malone launches Facebook baking competition for 'Cake Britain' exhibition

As part of our ongoing relationship with Tate & Lyle, we have been busy working on an exciting upcoming event they are sponsoring; the "Cake Britain" exhibition.

"Cake Britain", A Fairtrade event organised by The Mad Artists Tea Party, will be the world?s first-ever edible art exhibition, with unique pairings between the most creative bakers and food artists. It will showcase outlandish and mouth-watering cake creations from renowned cake-ists and artists such as David A Smith, Prudence Staite, Jellymongers and Lily Vanilli, and will be open to the public from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th August.

We have been busy running a competition on our Tate & Lyle Facebook page "We Love Baking" in the run up to the exhibition. We are challenging fans of the page to bake a cake with their own unique design and upload an image of their creation to the page. The response has been fantastic. Entries are going to be put before our panel of cake-fanatic judges, with the winner having their cake made for them and featured at the exhibition.

The UK tour of the amazing Cupcake Tree is also being tracked with our 'Baking Britain' interactive map.
